A mobile coronavirus testing unit is set to open in Senghenydd on Wednesday (October 21).

The unit will be set up at Senghenydd Rugby Club car park and will only be available for Caerphilly County Borough residents.

It will be open from 2pm to 5.30pm each day until Monday, October 26.

Residents will need to book in advance to get tested and will need to bring proof of address with them.

Symptoms of coronavirus include a new continuous cough, high temperature and a loss of taste or smell.

People wishing to be tested have also been urged to wear a face mask, not to use public transport to get to the site and not to visit shops or any other public places while on the way to or from getting tested.

A mobile testing unit opened at Penyrheol Park, Caerphilly town last week, but closed on Monday (October 19).

The test centre at Caerphilly Leisure Centre will remain in place until October 26 and will be open between 9am and 12.30pm.

To book a test, call 03003 031222 between 8am and 8pm Monday to Friday, or between 8am and 6pm on a Saturday.
