Woman found dead named by police

Adell Cowan was found dead at a property on Dol yr Eos, Mornington Meadows

A woman who was found dead in Mornington Meadows, Caerphilly, has been named as 43-year-old Adell Cowan.

Ms Cowan was found at a property on Dol yr Eos at around 12.10am on Sunday, October 18.

Paying tribute, Ms Cowan’s family described her as a “much-loved sister, auntie, niece and friend to many”.

The family added: “She was bubbly, sociable and well-known in the community.

“She will be deeply missed by all who knew her. We request that you please respect our privacy at this sad time.” 

Gwent Police has said the family is being supported by specially trained officers.

A 42-year-old man, from Caerphilly, was arrested on suspicion of murder. He has since been released under investigation, pending further enquiries.

Detective Superintendent Nick Wilkie, of Gwent Police’s major incident team, said: “We would very much like to thank the community for the support and information which has already been provided and would urge anyone with any information to please contact us.”
