Waun Borfa Road, Pengam

Gwent Police has confirmed it is no longer investigating a report of an “agitated” man seen getting into a van.

A Gwent Police spokesperson said: “Following an appeal that was made in relation to a report of concern for welfare in Waun Borfa Road, Pengam, on Monday, February 22, at around 9.20pm, officers have now concluded their enquiries and are no longer investigating.

“Reports of this nature are taken extremely seriously by Gwent Police but, on this occasion and after undertaking a detailed investigation, we will not be taking any further action.”

The force said it was not treating the incident as a hoax call, but as a contact made with good intentions by a concerned member of public.
