Christmas cheer comes to Caerphilly

Sponsored Content | Richard Gurner | Published: 12:54, Tuesday November 19th, 2013.

Caerphilly Borough will be hosting a programme of magnificent Christmas events for visitors from near and far, so here’s some to whet your appetite:

Returning to the town centre on Saturday November 30 and Sunday December 1 is the Blackwood Christmas Market. The High Street will be bursting with food and craft stalls, funfair rides, and traditional entertainment, a Santa’s Grotto and there’s even Donkey rides thrown into the Christmas mix.

Join us on Saturday December 7 for Bargoed’s annual Christmas Market. Host to around 20 traders, a Santa’s grotto, a traditional Punch & Judy show and children’s activities including pottery, crafts and some great street theatre, so come along and join in the celebrations and festive fun as Santa has a sack filled with entertainment to get you into the Christmas spirit!

Get your skates on!!! Why not come along to Bargoed between December 7 and 15 where, back by popular demand, is the fantastic indoor ice rink. There is no need to get caught up in the hustle and bustle of Cardiff when we have our very own ice rink on our doorstep!

And last, but not least, once a traditional market town, Caerphilly returns to its days of old with an electric mix of medieval entertainment, food and drink and an abundance of stalls selling unusual Christmas gifts such as medieval replica, traditional crafts, jewellery and Christmas decorations, so experience the sights, sounds and smells of a town and castle preparing for Christmas on Saturday December 7 and Sunday December 8.
