Trethomas Bluebirds have won the Ardal South East with one game to spare
Trethomas Bluebirds won the Ardal South East losing just two league games all season

As Trethomas Bluebirds prepare for life in the second tier of Welsh Football, the league has unveiled the fixture list for the upcoming season.

Mark Dunford’s men will kick things off as early as July 19 in the first round of the Nathaniel MG Cup with an away trip to fellow Gwent side, Cwmbran Celtic.

Their first Cymru South league match however will be played on Saturday July 27, with the Bluebirds on the road up against Llantwit Major, who finished 12th last season in the division.

It’s a pretty sharp turnaround for Trethomas, who play their first home game of the season on the following Tuesday against Penrhiwceiber Rangers.

Like the Bluebirds, Rangers were also promoted last season having won the Ardal South West, setting-up an important tester early on for both.

Other key matches for the diary are last year’s runners-up Llanelli Town travelling to the Centre for Sporting Excellence on Saturday September 7.

The Bluebirds are due to host their biggest rivals last season, Newport City, on Friday November 1, before making the return trip to Llanelli on Friday December 6.
