Welsh rugby legend Shane Williams and Love Island star Liam Reardon are set to run from Caerphilly to Cardiff Castle to raise money for Velindre.

It will be the tenth anniversary of the 11-mile charity run, with tickets having sold out for the event.

It starts on Sunday September 15 at 8am on Owain Glyndwr Fields, behind the castle.

Wales’ all-time leading try scorer Shane Williams spoke to Caerphilly Observer about his upcoming debut appearance in the race: “I’ve never done it before and usually stick to the cycling but I’m really looking forward to it.

“I spend a lot of time in Caerphilly and will be doing the run with some fantastic people for a worthwhile charity. It’ll be perfect preparation for an upcoming Iron Man I’m in too

“I think there are over 1,200 people running it which is the highest number ever. It should be a good day.”
