Wales faced Scotland in a test match over the weekend

Wales Women’s over-60s hockey team travelled to Wrexham over the weekend for a test match against reigning European Champions, Scotland.

Ahead of their world cup appearance in New Zealand this November, Wales have played a series of test matches, none tougher than their most recent against the Scots.

According to player Beverly Rogers, Wales lost the opening match 2-1 in a “very close game”, but managed to turn the tables the following day to secure a 2-1 victory themselves.

Rogers noted how it was good to see camaraderie between the two sides after the game, with both set to appear in the world cup later this year.

Rogers added how Wales are still looking for sponsorship to help fund the trip, and that anyone interested should email her at: bev.rogers1@sky.com
