Newbridge Leisure Centre has benefited from government grant funding

Caerphilly County Borough Council has announced a series of “significant upgrades” across its leisure centres thanks to UK Government funding.

Four leisure centres across the borough are set to benefit from the UK Shared Prosperity Fund grant, including Heolddu, Risca, Newbridge, and Caerphilly.

Heolddu Leisure Centre is set to benefit from having new Keiser M3i indoor exercise bikes, whilst Risca Leisure Centre will welcome an ‘interactive play wall’, combining both physical movement and games for children.

Caerphilly Leisure Centre will soon introduce a pop-up dry slide inflatable, which can be used for group activities and birthday packages.

Newbridge Leisure Centre also has a new feature, a hippo slide which was installed during its recent closure for works to the pool.

Councillor Chris Morgan, cabinet member for leisure, said: “These investments showcase our commitment to improving Leisure Lifestyle facilities for residents across the borough.

“From the upcoming interactive play wall at Risca to the pop-up inflatable at Caerphilly, we’re delivering modern, engaging spaces that provide exciting opportunities for families and individuals to stay active. We look forward to sharing more details on these new features soon.”
