Caerphilly County Borough Council has announced a £100 gift voucher will be awarded to both the school and sports club with the highest number of entries at this year’s Caerphilly 2k run.

Cllr Chris Morgan, cabinet member for leisure, praised the initiative, saying: “We are thrilled to introduce this exciting incentive to further encourage participation in the Caerphilly 2k event.

“By incentivising schools and sports clubs, we aim to foster a spirit of healthy competition and inspire individuals of all ages to embrace physical activity as part of their daily routine.”

The Caerphilly 2k run will be held before the 10k run on Sunday May 11.

To be eligible for the £100 gift voucher, schools and sports clubs are encouraged to contact the Caerphilly 10k team to receive a code that will track their entries.

The voucher can be used to purchase equipment and provide support to further enhance their activities.

Entrants must specify the school or sports club they are representing during registration to ensure their participation is counted towards the total number of entries for their school or club.

For more information and to register for the Caerphilly 2k event, you can visit www.caerphilly10k.co.uk or email 10k@caerphilly.gov.uk.
