Lauren Price MBE has returned to her hometown ahead of next month’s world title unification bout.
Price, who is now based in Sheffield, was back in Ystrad Mynach to take questions from residents at a Q&A at the Centre for Sporting Excellence.
The visit, organised by the council, was an opportunity for local residents to meet Lauren, collect tickets for the upcoming fight, and buy official merchandise.
It comes as Price prepares to face WBC and IBF World Champion Natasha Jonas at London’s Royal Albert Hall on Friday March 7.
Price knocked-out previously unbeaten fighter Bexcy Mateus in the third round in December last year, setting-up this highly anticipated all-British clash with Jonas.
Cllr Chris Morgan, council cabinet member for leisure, said: “Lauren is a true role model and a fantastic ambassador for Ystrad Mynach and the wider Caerphilly County Borough.
“Her dedication and achievements continue to inspire young athletes, and we are all behind her as she prepares for this historic fight.”
Tickets for the event are available by contacting 07341 388091.
