Gerwyn Price suffered a quarter-final exit in Berlin

Gerwyn Price will look to strengthen his Premier League play-offs claim tonight as Premier League Darts returns for Night 9 in Berlin.

Price, from Markham, goes into the night in fourth place – but faces a stern test in his opening match in the German capital.

The Iceman will face Michael van Gerwen, who is currently one place above him in third.

Price, who claimed victory on Night 3 in Dublin and again on Night 6 in Nottingham, heads to Berlin off the back of victory in the Players Championship on Monday night.

Price lands 39th PDC title after victory in Players Championship

However, his last two Premier League outings have resulted in first round exits – both following defeats to Rob Cross.

The winner of the clash between Price and Van Gerwen will face either league leader Luke Littler, or Chris Dobey in the semi-final.

“I’ve been struggling with a bit of an injury over the last week, and it’s still not 100%,” conceded Price, who trails Van Gerwen by a solitary point.

“It was nice to get another win on the ProTour this week, and this gives me a good confidence boost going into the Premier League.

“I was 4-1 up against Michael on the European Tour the other week and I lost 6-4.

“It doesn’t matter how well you’re playing, these players can come back and beat you, so I need to be at the top of my game.”
