The Cardiff Canucks have exited the National League Two South playoffs following a 10-1 aggregate loss to the Peterborough Phantoms.
The Canucks have had a “brilliant” debut season in the league, led by Canadian-born former NHL pro Trevor Hendrikx, who lives in Caerphilly.
Three players on the team also live in Caerphilly; Harvey Rose, Jaydon Ford, and Sweden’s Viktor Langseth.
After making it all the way through to the semi-finals, the Canucks suffered a 6-1 defeat on the road to the Phantoms on Saturday April 5, before losing 4-0 the following night in Cardiff.
Both games were said to have been close contests despite the score line, with the Canucks still able to hold their heads high after a memorable debut season.
