Gerwyn Price clinched his third Premier League Darts night victory of the year after success in Liverpool on Night 12.

Price, from Markham, beat world number one Luke Humphries in the final on Thursday April 24 to boost his play-off hopes.

The Iceman soared into the final following 6-2 wins over Chris Dobey and Rob Cross, before beating Humphries 6-4 in the showpiece.

Despite going 2-1 down in the final, Price drew the tie level at 3-3, before pouncing on missed doubles from Humphries in the seventh leg to take the lead.

He secured the 6-4 win with a 13-darter on tops to move to up to third – six points behind second-place Humphries in the standings. Price has also created a three-point buffer in the play-off spots.

The win in Liverpool follows wins in Dublin on Night 3 and Nottingham on Night 6.

“I’m playing really well, so fingers crossed this year could be my year,” claimed Price, who was a Premier League runner-up in 2023.

“I was under pressure to win my first game tonight and get some vital points on the board.

“I thought I played well in the first game, but after that I settled down a little bit and enjoyed myself, and it was a cracking game against Luke.”

Price continued: “I just want to make the top four. It doesn’t matter if I’m first, second, third or fourth, as long as I’m at The O2 in a few weeks. That’s my priority.

“This eases the pressure on me going into next week, and when there’s no pressure on me, I’ll play some good darts.”

The Premier League is back for Night 13 in Birmingham on Thursday May 1, with Price facing a Humphries rematch in the opening round.
