Gerwyn Price is currently third in the Premier League Darts standings

Gerwyn Price will be in Leeds for the fourteenth night of Premier League Darts as he continues his pursuit of a play-off spot.

Price, from Markham, has won three nights so far this year, and goes to West Yorkshire third in the standings.

Standing in Price’s way at the First Direct Arena is Rob Cross, who is currently sixth in the standings.

The winner of that first round tie will play either league leader Luke Littler or fellow-play-off chaser Nathan Aspinall in the semi-finals.

Price has so far claimed victories in Dublin, Nottingham and Liverpool, although Cross has won two of their three meetings in this year’s tournament.

Last week, Price was beaten by Michael van Gerwen – another play-off contender – at the semi-final stage in Birmingham.

How do the play-offs work?

Ranking points are awarded per night – with five to the winner, three to the runner-up and two to the semi-finalists – to form the league table from which the top four players will progress to the play-offs.

The play-offs will be played at The O2 in London on Thursday May 29, with two semi-finals and a final – with the winner crowned Premier League Darts champion.

On the weekend, Price was in Germany for the European Darts Grand Prix, but was knocked out by Raymond van Barneveld in his opening fixture.
