Gerwyn Price won Premier League Darts Night 12 in Liverpool
Gerwyn Price is in the 2025 Premier League Darts play-offs

The league phase of this year’s Premier League Darts has drawn to a close, with Gerwyn Price finishing fourth in the standings and securing a play-off spot.

On Thursday May 22, Markham’s Price entered Night 16 in Sheffield third in the standings, having already secured his spot at next week’s play-offs.

How do the play-offs work?

Ranking points are awarded per night – with five to the winner, three to the runner-up and two to the semi-finalists – to form the league table from which the top four players will progress to the play-offs.

Following the end of the league phase, Luke Littler, Luke Humphries, Nathan Aspinall and Gerwyn Price qualified for the play-offs, while Michael van Gerwen, Chris Dobey, Rob Cross, and Stephen Bunting were all eliminated.

The play-offs will be played at The O2 in London on Thursday May 29, with two semi-finals and a final – with the winner crowned Premier League Darts champion.

However, a 6-5 opening round defeat to Chris Dobey saw Price exit early in Sheffield, on a night where league phase table-topper Luke Littler claimed his sixth night victory of the year.

Littler now stands in Price’s way of play-off glory at London’s O2 Arena on Thursday May 29. The pair meet in the play-off semi-finals, with the winner taking on either Luke Humphries or Nathan Aspinall in the final.

It has been a strong campaign for 2023 finalist Price, who earned his play-off place in style. He picked up three Premier League night wins this year – in Dublin, Nottingham and Liverpool – to banish the poor form that plagued him throughout much of 2024.
