Gerwyn Price’s first Premier League Darts play-offs appearance since 2023 ended in a semi-final defeat to Luke Littler.

Price, from Markham, reached Thursday night’s play-offs, held at London’s O2 Arena, following an impressive league phase campaign which saw him collect wins in Dublin, Nottingham and Liverpool.

However, the Iceman fell to a 10-7 defeat to last year’s Premier League champion Littler, who went on to lose 11-8 to Luke Humphries in the final.

Price had led Littler 6-4 at the interval, but the 18-year-old fought back to sieze control of the tie.

Price’s defeat was his third successive loss to Littler, having beaten the reigning world champion in the previous six encounters – the longest winning run any player has enjoyed against him.

Despite losing out in his bid for a maiden Premier League crown, Price’s hat-trick of nightly wins throughout the season boosted his £85,000 prize money to £115,000.
