Wales women’s rugby league squad has been named ahead of fixtures with Scotland and England next month.
Leeds Rhinos star Bethan Dainton, from Hengoed, will continue to captain the side, while Cardiff Demons’ Amberley Ruck, from Caerphilly, is also in the 23-player squad.
Wales face Scotland at 1pm on Sunday August 3, before hosting England at 2pm on Saturday August 9.
Both games will be played at the Gnoll in Neath.
Head coach Tom Brindle said: “We’ve managed to put together an exciting squad with a mix of players who are performing well in the Super League and Championship.
“Most of our potential squad are playing much more consistently this year, which has made selection hard.
“We’ve built up a strong squad over the last few years and most of the players already have caps under their belt. However, we do have [Olivia Williams] and Sioned [Young] who could earn their debuts thanks to having a strong season at Cardiff Demons.”
