Caerphilly-born Dylan Lawlor delivered a man of the match performance on his international debut as Wales beat Kazakhstan in a World Cup qualifying match on Thursday.
Wales earned a 1-0 win away in Astana, with manager Craig Bellamy singling out the 19-year-old Cardiff City defender for praise.
Speaking to Sgorio after the match, Bellamy said: “He’s just a good player. Good players are good players. I feel sometimes we can say they’re either too old or too young. We’ll look for every excuse going – it’s our nature as people.
“For me, when someone says you can’t, it’s because they’re so afraid you will.
“He’s a good footballer. He’s playing games and that’s important as well because we’ve got a lot of players who are not playing regularly at the moment, which is usually the case.
“But he had a rhythm and you could see he’s been playing games – and with his quality as well, it was a top performance from him today, and we needed him.”
