Markham’s Gerwyn Price has been drawn against Czech Republic’s Adam Gawlas, 23, in the first round of the World Darts Championship.
Price, 40, who won the competition in 2021, will be looking to become world champion for a second time.
The 128-player competition will once again be held at London’s Alexandra Palace, with the first matches getting underway on December 11. The final will be played on January 3.
A total prize fund of £5m is on offer – including a £1m prize for the winner.
In a change from recent years, all players will enter the tournament in the first round rather than the second round.
