Boxer Lauren Price MBE will be meeting fans in her hometown as she prepares for her homecoming fight on Welsh soil this spring.

Ystrad Mynach’s Price, 31, will defend her WBA, WBC, IBF, IBO and Ring Magazine World Welterweight Titles when she fights Puerto Rico’s Stephanie Pineiro Aquino at Cardiff’s Utilita Arena on April 4.

But before that, the Olympic champion will be at the Centre for Sporting Excellence on Saturday March 7, where fans will be able to meet her, collect fight tickets, and buy official merchandise.

The fight, which will be Price’s tenth as a professional, will be aired live on BBC Two and BBC iPlayer.

Her most recent fight came in March last year, where she defeated Natasha Jonas at the Royal Albert Hall in London to unify the welterweight world titles.

The fan engagement event is being supported by Caerphilly County Borough Council.

Cllr Chris Morgan, council cabinet member for leisure, said: “Lauren’s journey continues to inspire people across Caerphilly and beyond.

“Welcoming her back to Ystrad Mynach gives local supporters a chance to connect with her and share in the excitement ahead of a major fight.”
