Bedwas and Trethomas Bowls Club played host to the annual Monmouthshire Bowling Association’s Finals Day over the weekend, welcoming the best players from across south-east Wales.
The finals day featured players from 13 different bowling clubs, with singles, pairs, triples, and fours finals being played in an action-packed event on Saturday July 25.
There were plenty of winners from Caerphilly County Borough – with Blackwood claiming two titles, New Tredegar’s Adam Pugh winning the Champion of Champions singles, and Crosskeys winning the open pairs final.

The winners of each competition will now look to compete in the Welsh Finals in Llandrindod Wells, with hope of reaching the British Isles Finals.
It was also announced following the conclusion of the finals day, that competition secretary, Les Bowd, would be stepping down at the end of the season, following ten years of involvement in the competition.
Next year’s Monmouthshire Bowling Association’s Finals Day will be held at Pontymister Bowls Club, celebrating the organisation’s 103rd year.
