Risca RFC under 16s has been given a £500 donation from supermarket Tesco.

Coaches and players from the club were invited to the Tesco Extra, on Pontymister Industrial Estate, to receive the donation from the supermarket’s local Community Champion Rebecca Cole.

The Risca Under 16s rugby team is part of a selection of mini and junior teams, based at the Stores Field, the home of Risca RFC.

The team have enjoyed a very successful season, proving to be tough competition for opposing teams.

Due to the hard work and great results of the under 16s rugby team, the coaches have arranged an end of season tour to Lake Garda, in Italy.

Risca Under 16’s head coach Dave Crandon said : “The money will go towards kit and equipment for the coming tour which we are all really excited about.”
