Commonwealth Gold Medalist Robert Weale has welcomed the news that Islwyn Indoor Bowls Club in Pontllanfraith will host the 2012 World Indoor Bowls Championships in April – for the second year running.

In partnership with Caerphilly County Borough Council, the club will welcome players from across the globe for the four-day tournament, which takes place between Tuesday April 17 and Friday April 20.

Robert Weale, Commonwealth Gold Medalist and club member at the Islwyn Indoor Bowls Club said: “This is fantastic news for the club to be hosting these championships for the second year running. It is a superb venue and truly deserves the prestige of hosting such an event.”

There is an opportunity for local businesses to become involved in this prestigious event which is set to attract a large number of visitors as well as create a substantial virtual audience from across the world.
