World Indoor Bowls Championships a success at Islwyn Indoor Bowls Club

After a nail-biting four day tournament, the winners of the World Indoor Bowls Championships, hosted at the Islwyn Indoor Bowls Club have been announced.

Players from across the globe cheered as both the Wales and Scotland teams were crowned winners of the prestigious tournament.

Three titles were up for grabs:

  • Laura Thomas from Wales is the WIBC 2012 Ladies Singles Champion
  • Kerry Packwood and Damian Doubler from Wales are the WIBC Mixed Pairs Champions
  • Steven Allan from Scotland took the title of WIBC 2012 Men’s Singles Champion

Countries taking part included Canada, England, Guernsey, Ireland, Isle of Man, Israel, Jersey, Netherlands, Scotland and Wales.

The World Indoor Bowls Council Championship 2012 was sponsored by Caerphilly County Borough Council, Carlsberg, First Phase Electrical, LPS Cellar Services, Squeeky Clean (Wales) Ltd and Blackwood Fire Ltd.
