Sport | Richard Gurner | Published: 11:31, Wednesday September 5th, 2012.

A women’s rugby team is looking for a new coach.

Blaenau Gwent Women’s Rugby Team, based in Crumlin, needs a dedicated rugby coach to take training sessions at Kayfield every Wednesday between 7pm and 8.30pm.

The team was formed in 1986 and is the oldest women’s rugby side in Wales.

Currently in a Division 2 league, ages of players ranges from 18 upwards.

Captain Kalee Thomas said: “We need a head coach preferably with forwards experience and at least a level 1 coaching certificate is preferable.

“The coach can be male or female, but we would like a coach with playing experience. We have been affiliated with Crumlin for seven years and train on Wednesday evenings at Crumlin and play every Sunday.

“If anyone is interested they can contact me on 07875286278.”
