NEW CLOTH: Machen pool team model the new shirts

A pool team from Machen have a smart new look thanks to a donation from insurers Admiral.

The ten-man Machen USC pool team, which plays from the United Services Club in Machen, received funding from the company’s ‘Community Chest scheme’.

Stuart Lukins, has has been part of the pool team for eight years. and works in Admiral’s Newport office. He applied to the company’s scheme which provides funding for charities and organisations in which staff members or their families are involved.

He said: “We play in the Caerphilly Pool League every Thursday night and we go on tour every two years, including Copenhagen later in 2013.

“All the members were delighted with the new shirts we bought with the donation from Admiral. It’s given us a smart new look whilst battling out in the various tournaments we play in.”

The team is made up of: Captain Chris Bache, Stuart Lukins, Oliver Hughes, Phillip Hughes, Gareth Hughes, Darryn Havard, Chris Davies, Roger Knight, John Evans, Rhodri Holmes.
