A dominant first half set Bedwas up for a deserved first win of the season on Saturday September 28.
Bedwas started well with Richard Powell slotting over two penalty kicks, putting them six points to nil ahead after 12 minutes and in control.
Neath’s Langdon replied with a converted penalty kick. Midway through the half an intercepted Bedwas pass put Neath between the posts for a converted try.
Hooker Richard Wilkes ran a great angle and powered through for a try, Powell adding the conversion.
Two minutes later Bedwas broke down the right and was judged to have stayed in the field of play to the disgust of Neath supporters who felt otherwise, and ran through for a try, again Powell converted.
An exchange in penalties before the interval arrived with Bedwas comfortably ahead 28 points to 13.
A drop goal before Bedwas lock Phill Rees was sin binned put Neath in charge, with another exchange in penalties soon after.
Weak tackling from Bedwas put Neath within five points of Bedwas.
Two penalties by Powell put his contribution to 22 points and earned Bedwas a valuable victory.
