FOOTBALL: Caerphilly Park Rangers kept their promotion hopes alive with a 10-0 thrashing of Tymawr on Sunday January 12.
Caerphilly Park Rangers’ top scorer Kier Gibbons put four away as CPR netted ten to keep the pressure on league leaders Pontlottyn.
Tymawr came into the game failing to record a win this season, registering ten defeats and a draw.
Four minutes saw CPR aheadwhen mishandling by Tymawr’s keeper saw Maini slot it in from four yards out.
Tymawr responded with a change of tactics and began to find some respite from CPR’s attack but were unable to capitalise.
Caerphilly Park Rangers doubled their lead when Gibbons fired a shot from the edge of the box, who fired into the bottom corner.
Caerphilly captain Rhys Morgan ran through the centre and tapped it past for three-nil.
CPR went into half time 5 goals to the good with their keeper Joshua Edge yet to make a save.
The second half saw further goals, Gibbons bagging his eighth hat trick of the season taking his goal tally to 32 in just 11 Games.
The final goal came from substitute Tom Butts who parried in an effort from the outstanding Maini.
