Nelson Cavaliers’ second team beat Llantrisant with a last-ditch deflected strike just minutes after goalkeeper Matthew Farr saved a penalty.
The deflected Dan Sudale strike wrong-footed Llantrisant’s keeper to put Nelson 2-1 up late in the second-half of the Taff Ely and Rhymney Valley Division 1 match, played on March 1.
Llantrisant opened the scoring after the Cavaliers were caught on the break but the home team responded well and equalised through a Ryan Donovan strike.
Nelson pressed throughout the second half but looked to have lost the game against the run of play when a penalty was awarded to Llantrisant after a reckless challenge in the dying minutes.
But Farr’s heroic save and the deflected Sudale strike won the game for the Cavaliers.
