Caerphilly RFC beat Pill Harriers 25-10 at Virginia Park on March 29.

Caerphilly are looking to secure a mid-table finish in League three East following a poor start to the season and both sides produced running rugby with six tries between them.

It took Caerphilly just three minutes to open the scoring as they took play from the kick-off up to the Pill line, moving the ball from left to right for wing Michael Lynch to score out wide.

The first-half was dominated by Caerphilly. Their defence and attack working in unison, but two tries were for failure to ground the ball.

Caerphilly extended their lead from a move started in their own 22, eventually releasing centre, Will Worthington, to dance through the defence and score under the posts. Caerphilly scored again minutes later as flanker Tom Ogden scored under the posts for a converted try.

The second-half saw the visitors bounce back, scoring two tries courtesy of scrum half Curtis Watkins, replacement Joss Evans.

Caerphilly sealed the bonus point in the final play of the game as captain Gareth Short crossed after a break from defence.
