ROLLER HOCKEY: Six youngsters from Caerphilly County Borough played for Wales at the British Inline Puck Hockey Super League Tournament in Rotherham.
The Caerphilly Inline Roller Hockey Club players represented the Welsh Under-tens in the national competition over the Easter weekend.
The Caerphilly contingent included Jo Moody, eight, Christopher Raven, nine, and Andrew Raven, eight – all from Caerphilly – Charlotte Harris, ten, from Ystrad Mynach and siblings Tomoya and Rihoko Nieuwendijk-Adachi, nine and eight respectively and originally from Llanbradach.
The Wales Under-tens side lost all three of their games against tough opponents, but Caerphilly Inline Roller Hockey Club coaches Andrew Jones-Prosser and Roel Nieuwendijk were extremely proud of their players.
Mr Nieuwendijk said: “This is a great achievement for our club. This was the players’ first experience of playing for Wales and we’re very proud of them.”
