Penallta Youth are the undisputable champions of Wales after winning the National Youth League Play-Off Final at Cardiff Arms Park on May 31.

Penallta beat Aberavon Quins 31-0 to be crowned Youth League Champions of Wales, their fifth 15-a-side title in a season that saw them undefeated in all competitions, making them the most successful youth team in the country for a number of seasons.

They made the play offs after winning the Youth League Dragons A, scoring an impressive 406 points in the league whilst conceding just 32, and only one try.

Penallta are also Welsh youth cup champions after beating Gilfach Goch at the Millenium Stadium to win the WRU Youth Cup in April.

The team added the Caerphilly District Cup and the Wynne Lloyd Welsh Inter District Cup – playing as Caerphilly District- and two sevens titles to their trophy cabinet .

Amazingly Penallta conceded just 15 points and no tries in their Caerphilly District cup run and allowed only four tries against them in the WRU Youth Cup – a remarkable record in a season to remember.

• Penallta Youth outside-half Joseph Scrivens played for Wales in the first leg of the FIRA-AER European Sevens Grand Prix Series in Lyon.

The 19-year-old helped Wales to runner up spot in the Bowl competition on the weekend of June 7-8 and is hoping to make the squad for the next round in Moscow.

Wales lost to 24-14 to Italy in the Bowl final and France won the cup competition, beating Belgium in the final.
