Crumlin gymnasts place well in South Central Wales competition

The Valleys Gymnastics Academy’s successful team

Members of the Crumlin-based Valleys Gymnastics Academy won a host of medals in the South Central Wales Floor and Vault Championships in Bridgend on June 8.

The clubs’ 8-11 team were champions in the club category and Amy Oliver took gold overall, winning both floor and vault.

Team-mate Leah Marie Amphlett took bronze overall, while Seren Thomas was also placed on both pieces and took fourth overall. Seren Burgwin placed fifth on vault.

In the 8-11 regional event, Ellie Davies took gold on vault, silver on floor and gold overall, whilst Katelyn King took gold on floor, silver on vault and silver overall.

In the 12+ club category the team of Elise Edwards, Jazmine Martin, Maddison Hamer and Abbigail Craig took bronze and Elise won a ribbon for her floor routine.

In the 12+ regional category Beth Wheeler took silver on floor, silver on vault and placed 3rd overall.
