Two Caerphilly County Borough golfers have been rewarded after recording hole-in-ones.

Christopher Norris, 56, who has a handicap of 13, managed to pot in one shot on a 150 yard par-three at Bargoed Golf Club.

He said: “The ball pitched on the front of the green, bounced once, ran on about 12-feet and hit the flagstick, before dropping in the hole.

“I was congratulated by my playing companions and other members on the course who were all inventing exotic drinks for me to buy them once we got back to the clubhouse. There was much merriment in the bar afterwards.”

Derek Lloyd, 64, from Hengoed also scored a hole-in-one on a par three 150 yard hole, at Brecon Golf Club.

Mr Lloyd has a handicap of 11 and both golfers were given a Boss watch to recognise their achievements after the company pledged to reward golfers who play a hole-in-one during club competitions.
