Sport | | Published: 14:00, Thursday September 18th, 2014.

Caerphilly’s League Two East match against Tredegar at Virginia Park was called off as the away team could not field a team.

The newly re-established 2nd XV beat Treherbert 32-10 in the Rhondda and East Glamorgan League.

First team scrum-half Joe Bray and outside-half Lloyd Rowlands joined the seconds and a try by Bray and two penalties from Rowlands put them 12-7 up at half-time.

A try by Dafydd Jones and two more from Rowlands completed his hat-trick and sealed the win.

The Youth eventually eased past Ruthin in then Welsh Youth Cup despite having top deal with a six hour journey to North Wales.

A close first half saw the young Caerphilly side hold a slender 15-10 lead.

The side cut lose in the second-half and eventually routed the home side 49-15 as they eased into the draw for the next round.
