Top British hurdler Dai Greene left young athletes inspired after a motivational visit to one of their training sessions.
The World, European and Commonwealth 400m hurdles champion trained around 110 members of Rhymney Valley Athletic Club on September 4.
The Welsh athlete held a question and answer session, observed training and passed on coaching tips to the children aged between four and 14.
Ruth Powell, Chair of Rhymney Valley Athletic Club, said: “We were thrilled to have Dai along to the session to speak to the children and take some training.
“He took the time to speak to everyone and seemed to thoroughly enjoy himself.
“He even brought his medals along to show the children and signed autographs and had his photo taken – he was amazing. I think the children were in awe of him and they were very inspired by his visit. They listened to everything he had to say and were really engaged and well behaved. Everyone left the session on a real high, there was definitely a buzz about the place.”
