Caerphilly and Risca under 11s produced a try feast when they met on September 28.
The perfect weather and lack of wind made for some excellent running rugby with a great all round team display from Caerphilly, reflected by the eight different try scorers on the day.
The first try came from a long kick-off where a great chase and pressure at the tackle area resulted in Scott Pritchard touching the ball down.
Tries of course don’t come without a well organised defence and Logan Turner led the way with twelve tackles in the match.
The cast of many try scorers was made possible through some outstanding unselfish play along the back line.
The try of the match was a well-worked passing move along the line, supported by Mayho who finished off in the corner.
Caerphilly’s try scorers were William Haley, Eli Weekes, Logan Turner, Connor Mayho (2), Owen Hughes (2), Ioan Hill, Louis Bellamy (2), and Scott Pritchard.
The young cheesemen will be hoping to carry on their form against Ystrad Rhondda RFC on October 5.
Caerphilly under 12s beat Risca 42-0, and the under 8s beat the same team 7-4.
The under 7s also triumphed against the local rivals of Risca, winning 7-5 to round up a good weekend for Caerphilly.
