Valleys Gymnasts take gold as Amy Oliver eyes elite contests

A team of gymnasts from the Valleys Gymnastics Academy took gold at the National Alpha Factor Invitational in Wiltshire on the weekend of October 18-19.

The level five team of Carys Carpenter, Leah Marie Amphlett and Naomi Burgess beat stiff competition from across the UK.

They all took apparatus awards and Carys Carpenter came fourth overall.

Elsewhere, Amy Oliver competed in the level four preparation competition, for gymnasts who will begin competing on the elite preparation pathway.

She had a fabulous competition, collecting gold awards on the bars, floor and vault as well as fourth place overall.

At level four Jazmine Martin won awards on the bars and vaults, while Niya Hewitt, and Ellie Davies won bronze on the bars in level three and Katelyn King won bronze on floor and silver on vault.
