Sport | | Published: 12:21, Wednesday June 17th, 2015.

Youngsters from the Crumlin-based Valleys Gymnastics Academy (VGA) performed well at the GymStars Invitational in Rushmoor, Aldershot.

The competition featured nearly 350 gymnasts from the best clubs in Britain and the VGA girls, aged seven to 13, brought home a range of medals and ribbons.

At Level Five Orlaith King and Millie Prosser secured several top ten finishes.

Maddison Harford excelled and picked up rosettes for her top six finishes on the vault, bars and floor, as well as fifth position in the overall event.

At Level Four Naomi Jarman picked up fourth and fifth place ribbons for her bars and beam performances, whilst Carys Carpenter and Naomi Burgess took second jointly on the bars and Miss Carpenter finished eighth overall.

Amy Oliver was outstanding, repeating last year’s gold-medal winning performance for the overall competition, as well as on vault and bars, along with a silver for her beam routine.

The Level 3 gymnasts, Ellie Davies, Katelyn King and Niya Hewitt, faced stiff competition but performed excellently, all finishing within the top eight.
Miss King also picked up gold on bars, fourth on vault and seventh overall.
