Valleys Gymnastics Academy competitors on top form again

Valleys Gymnastics Academy scooped a handful of medals at their two latest domestic competitions.

On September 23 to 25, gymnasts competed at the Quantro Cup in Wiltshire, which attracted 350 competitors.

Ruby Holyfield, Ellie Mae Tetley, Maddison Harford, Orlaith King and Millie Prosser won team gold in the Level 5 event.

Maddison had an outstanding competition and took the overall silver medal for her efforts.

Competing at Level 4, nine-year-old Amy Oliver took the overall gold medal.
At out-of-age Level 4 Category, a team of Niya Hewitt, Naomi Jarman, Jazmin

Martin and Beth Wheeler won silver. Ellie Davies took third place overall in the 10/11 years category.

The following weekend a smaller team represented the club at the Welsh Levels and Challenge Cup championships.

Amy Oliver took gold for her floor routine and finished third overall, winning a place to compete for Wales in the British finals.

In the ten and 11 category of the Challenge Cup, Ellie Davies picked up overall bronze.

Naomi Burgess was crowned Welsh champion on vault and the team, with Carys Carpenter, were crowned team champions.

In the 12 and 13 age group Naomi Jarman won gold on the beam and Niya Hewitt scooped gold on bars, floor and vault.

In the 14-plus age group Beth Wheeler had a fantastic competition, taking gold medals on bars and vault and was crowned overall Welsh champion.
