Three teams of gymnasts representing Crospenmaen’s Valleys Gymnastics Academy took part in their South Central Wales grades.

Held in Cardiff on Sunday March 6, the girls managed a large medal haul, and in the process were selected to represent the South Central Wales region in the grade finals in Llanelli.

Taking part in grade six, Darcey Simmons, Hayley Walker, Imogen Farfarakis and Lowri Ruddock all performed superbly and passed their grades with flying colours, each achieving highly commended or distinction.

The gymnasts combined to take team gold, picking up a whole host of apparatus awards and in the overall competition, Lowri took sixth, with Imogen in fourth, Darcey in third and Hayley was crowned South Central champion.

At grade five the gymnasts were again outstanding, achieving highly commended and distinction passes.

The team of Ruby Holyfield, Ellie Mae Tetley and Millie Prosser were crowned team champions and the team of Savannah Broderick, Georgia Williams and Mollie Williams took the team silver medal.

The girls won a large number of medals, including gold for Ruby on vault and gold for Millie on range and conditioning. In the overall event Millie finished second, Ellie third, Mollie fourth and Savannah fifth.
