The Caerphilly Schools Under-11s football team will be competing in a national finals tournament on Saturday April 23, during only their first season playing county level football.

The Welsh Schools FA Tom Yeoman Festival Finals will be held at The Centre for Sporting Excellence in Ystrad Mynach and welcomes seven other teams from four national area groups, including Pembrokeshire, Flintshire, Wrexham and Cardiff and Vale.

The Caerphilly Schools U11s team have an opportunity to challenge themselves against some of the best players across Wales in their age category.

The boys, who are Risca United academy players, are coached by Jason Darby and James Cuddihy, and their participation in the finals signifies a fantastic achievement.

Risca United Academy is a FAW accredited academy offering the best players throughout the borough the opportunity to play at the highest level.

Sides from U10s to U16s play in the Welsh Premier League academy programme and Welsh Schools FA competition.
