A family man who loved horse racing has had a cup race named in his honour for the second year.
Patrick Phillips, 62, of Caerphilly, passed away in August 2014 from a heart attack.
Last year family and friends clubbed together to sponsor a race at the Tredegar Farmer’s Hunt Point-to-Point horse race meet.
This year, the Patrick Phillips Cup was contested again at the meet in Lower Machen on May 8, with Rosie’s Peacock winning, ridden by John Mathias.
Patrick’s son Greg said: “It was another great event and it is something we are going to be doing every year.”
