Caerphilly-born downhill mountain bike rider Manon Carpenter took first place in the fourth round of the British Cycling MTB Downhill Series on Sunday, June 26.
The six-stage downhill series was based in Moelfre, Anglesey for round four.
Regardless of differing weather conditions and a somewhat depleted field – with world champion Rachel Atherton recovering from injury – Carpenter, 23, showed her mettle as she produced a winning run of 3:05:811, nearly 12 seconds clear of her nearest rival, Ellie Maxfield, to top the Elite Women Class for Madison Saracen Factory Team.
Powys plays host to round five on August 27 and 28.
