The Olympic Games 2016 are finally here, with the Paralympics soon to follow, and Team GB has two competitors from Caerphilly County Borough in its ranks.
Elena Allen, 44, from Blackwood, is competing in the Olympic women’s skeet shooting.
The 2014 Commonwealth Games silver medallist faces qualification at 1pm on Friday, August 12, with a potential final at 7pm on the same day.
Hollie Arnold, from Hengoed, will be competing in the F46 javelin event at the Paralympics in September – with a schedule yet to be announced.
The 22-year-old made her Paralympic debut in Beijing in 2008, aged just 14.
