Downhill mountain biker Manon Carpenter took second place in the Canadian Open Final and third in the Ultimate Pumptrack Challenge at the annual Crankworx biking competition in Whistler, Canada.
The Caerphilly-born 23-year-old raced in both timed and head-to-head events at Crankworx.
Manon finished fifth in the Women’s Pro Elite Garbanzo Downhill, 12 second off the leader, before securing third place in the Ultimate Pumptrack Challenge – a short head-to-head heat-style race – on Thursday, August 18.
Another fifth place came in the Giant Dual Slalom on Friday August 19, before a great run in the Women’s Pro Elite Canadian Open on Saturday August 20 saw her clinch second place, behind Australian rider Tracey Hannah.
