Gymnastics: Young gymnasts secure personal bests in competition

Sport | | Published: 15:20, Tuesday October 18th, 2016.

Young gymnasts from the Crumlin-based Valleys Gymnastics Academy are celebrating success at two recent competitions.

At the London Open on the weekend of September 30, seven boys from the Academy competed, with many picking up personal bests and medal positions.

Harvey Gough finished 11th place overall in the Grade 2 placings, and took gold on both the high bar and pommel horse.

In the Elite Level 1 class, Morgan Lucas picked up the bronze medal on the floor, and placed fourth on the pommel with a very impressive score of 9.9 out of ten.

On Sunday, October 2, the Academy hosted the South Central Wales Level 5 and 6 Championships.

As a result of some superb performances, 11 girls have been selected to represent South Central Wales at the Welsh Championships on Sunday October 16.
