Eight youngsters from the Crumlin-based Valleys Gymnastics Academy have played their part in helping Wales to success at a national tournament.

Representing Wales across various age groups at the 2016 British Elite and Club Development Grade Finals in Birmingham on the weekend of November 5 and 6, several of the boys performed admirably, having qualified for the event with top grading placings.

In the Club Level 2 competition, youngsters Harvey Gough, Will Wheeler, and Noah Higgs helped the Welsh team take the gold medal position, with Harvey crowned as British champion with individual gold in the all-round competition.

At Club Level 3, Aled Lewis performed consistently throughout the competition, placing 24th from 53 other gymnasts.

Meanwhile, in the elite grades, Owain Lewis and Morgan Lucas helped Wales to the silver medal position, with 10th and 17th position finishes respectively.

Harrison Harris and Callum Evans also placed well in the Elite Grades Level 3 Competition all-around event, at 17th and 27th.
