On Sunday May 7, Tridwr Ladies Bowling Club hosted a special invitation match at its new home in Senghenydd Welfare Park to celebrate the club’s 40th anniversary.

Aber Valley councillor Lyndon Binding began proceedings with a short speech providing a brief history of the club and highlighting the success of its members over the years – with members winning competitions at club, county and national levels and representing Wales at senior and junior level.

Invitations were sent to all the clubs in the South Wales & Mon Bowling Association to help enjoy the anniversary and every one bar two clubs sent representatives.

The match itself was played in glorious weather in Senghenydd and in the spirit of celebration.

Three of the club’s founding members were present to cut an anniversary cake made specially for the occasion.

The day was a tremendous success and enjoyed by all who attended.

The Club would like to thank everyone for the support on the day and, should anyone be interested in joining the Club can contact Maggie Smith by emailing maggiemsmith@aol.com for further information on the Club’s activities.
