A Crumlin gymnastics club which hosted regional competitions is celebrating after its own gymnasts came away with top spot.

Valleys Gymnastics Academy played host to the South Central Wales Level 5 and 6 competitions and saw three teams earn gold in their respective categories.

Tabitha Fieldhouse enjoyed a fantastic competition and took gold overall in the Level 6, eight-year-old category as well as gold on three apparatus and silver on the vault.

In the nine-year-old competition, Olivia Brunt took second place overall, with Imogen Farfarakis in third and Lowri Ruddock in fourth. The girls also combined as a team and took gold.

At 10/11 Level 6, a team consisting of Ruby Holyfield, Charlie Williams, Georgie Williams and Ellie Court – pictured above – were named team champions, with Georgie and Ruby also taking second and fourth overall respectively.

In the higher Level 5 event, Darcey Simmons finished third overall and in first place on the floor in the nine-year-old category.

In the 10/11 category, Mya Davies was second overall, and in the 12+ category, Carys Phillips was crowned champion, with Becky Thomas in fourth. They were joined by Seren Hooper and Aur Warren in claiming the team gold medal, with Aur also taking gold on the floor.

Each of the gymnasts to finish in the top five in the overall competition will now go forward to represent South Central Wales in the Welsh Level 6/5 Finals in November.
